Heat Pump Systems and How They Work
A ductless mini-split system is an efficient, versatile heating and cooling solution that doesn’t require traditional ductwork. It consists of an outdoor unit (typically a heat pump) and one or more indoor air handlers, which are installed in different rooms of the home.
These indoor units are connected to the outdoor heat pump using a set of pipes that carry refrigerant, as well as electrical wiring and drainage lines. The pipes and wires are often concealed in protective covers on the exterior of the home, keeping the installation clean and discreet.
The primary advantage of a ductless system is its ability to provide personalized temperature control in each room or zone where an indoor unit is installed. This ensures that each space can be heated or cooled independently, leading to increased energy efficiency and comfort.
Additionally, mini-split systems are effective at removing humidity and offer high-quality filtration for improved indoor air quality.
